Description:
At 724 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Ball Flat, or 8 miles east of Hokes Bluff, moving northwest at 25
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gadsden, Hokes Bluff, Centre, Centre Municipal Airport, Glencoe,
Leesburg, Reece City, Sand Rock, Tennala, Tabor Road, Cherokee Rock
Village, Ballplay, Slackland, Western Weiss Lake, Noccalula Falls,
Ball Flat, Moshat, Eastern Weiss Lake, Coloma, and Weiss Dam.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
northeastern and east central Alabama.
