Description:
At 553 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Lake Buttahatchee, or 8 miles southwest of
Haleyville. These storms were nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Hamilton, Haleyville, Hackleburg, Brilliant, Brinn, Lake
Buttahatchee, Bear Creek, Tessner, Pearces Mill, Upper Bear Creek
Reservoir, Pigeye, Piney Grove, and Pikeville.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
