Description:
At 1036 PM MDT, the public reported flooding along State Route 264
into Steamboat Canyon. Doppler radar indicated that the heavy
rainfall has ended, however flooding remains a threat from earlier
heavy rainfall. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. No
additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Public reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, and highways.

Instruction:
Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
