Description:
At 118 PM PDT, strong thunderstorms are ongoing over Mono, southern
Lyon, and western Mineral counties. Thunderstorm coverage is
expected to expand northward through the afternoon and early evening.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, Fallon, Mammoth Lakes, Tahoe
City, Chalfant, Kings Beach, Crowley Lake, Sonora Pass, Gardnerville,
Virginia City, June Lake, Boca Reservoir, Lee Vining, Twin Lakes,
Lahontan Reservoir, Incline Village, Toms Place, and Alpine Meadows.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through
flooded roadways.
