Description: 
At 152 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southeast of Rico, or 22 miles north of Durango, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern San Juan and north central La Plata Counties. This includes U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 40 and 60.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
