The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower Colorado River below 8000 feet. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until midnight MDT tonight. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 14 percent. * IMPACTS...Elevated fire danger is expected. Fires will catch and spread rapidly and erratically.
