Central Rio Blanco County in northwestern Colorado...
* Until 315 PM MDT.
* At 154 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Elk RBX Burn Scar. Between 0.2 and 0.6 inches
of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches
in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall will result in debris flow moving through the Elk
RBX Burn Scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation
and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Elk RBX
Burn Scar.

extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Elk RBX Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also be
anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away in
places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
