* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Colorado, including the following county, Mesa. * WHEN...Until 800 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 502 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Indian Wash, Leach Creek and Colorado River. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.8 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Low water crossings can become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
