Description:
At 631 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 9 miles south of Highland Center to 4 miles northeast
of Yuma to 12 miles southeast of Otis, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. A 63 mph wind gust was measured
at the fairgrounds in Yuma. Blowing dust has also been
observed on web cameras.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Yuma, Eckley, Joes, Abarr, Kirk, Heartstrong, and Clarkville.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of
near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must
travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.
