Description:
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry
fuels, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. A Fire
Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for
gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels is in effect
from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening. The Fire
Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest
Colorado Lower Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox
Valley Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 292 North Fork
Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 294 Southwest Colorado
Upper West Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 491
Southeast Utah.
* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 9 PM MDT this
evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 8 PM
MDT Wednesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Thursday
afternoon through Thursday evening.
* WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise
extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
