Description:
At 157 PM EDT/1257 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a strong
thunderstorm 11 miles north of Chattahoochee, or 12 miles south of
Donalsonville, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Quincy, Greensboro, Chattahoochee, Sneads, Gretna, Brinson, Desser,
Seminole State Park, Reynoldsville, Douglas City, Mount Pleasant,
Hardin Heights, Rosedale, Recovery, Faceville, Haynes, Hardaway,
Drakes Still, Jinks, and Sycamore.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
If on or near Lake Seminole, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
