At 412 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Kinmundy, or 10 miles north of Salem, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include... St. Paul, Kinmundy, Loogootee, St. Peter, Farina, Stephen Forbes Station and La Clede. This includes the following State Parks... Stephen A. Forbes State Recreation Area. This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 127 and 135.

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
