* At 419 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
rainfall rates of up to 2 to 3 inches per hour overspreading the
warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly after the
onset of heavy rainfall.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.

Calumet City, Woodridge, Chicago Heights, Roseland, Chicago Lawn,

Lenox, Homer Glen and Blue Island.
Instruction:
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
