* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northwestern Clinton County in south central Illinois... Madison County in southwestern Illinois... Northeastern Saint Louis City in east central Missouri... * WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 227 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Granite City, Alton, Collinsville, Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Wood River, Highland, Troy, Bethalto, Maryville, Pontoon Beach, Madison, Venice, East Alton, South Roxana, Roxana and Hartford.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
