Description:
At 656 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Rome, or near Chillicothe, moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Peoria, Chillicothe, Washington, Metamora, Germantown Hills, Rome,
Dunlap, Spring Bay, Cazenovia, Bay View Gardens, Mossville, Alta, and
Low Point.
This also includes Marshall State Fish and Wildlife Area, Rock Island
Trail State Park, and Woodford State Fish and Wildlife Area.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
