Northeastern Kane County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 900 PM CDT.
* At 307 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall across the warned
area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in portions of
far northeastern Kane County. The expected rainfall rate is up to
2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.

Plaines, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Elmhurst,
Lombard, Bartlett, Streamwood, Carol Stream, Hanover Park,
Carpentersville, Addison, Glendale Heights, Elk Grove Village and
St. Charles.
Instruction:
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
