Description: 
At 319 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms with rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour. Up to 1 inch of rainfall has occurred so far, with 2 to 3 inches of rainfall possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly as the intense rainfall rates expand eastward. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Aurora, Joliet, Plainfield, Oswego, Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, Montgomery, Boulder Hill, Newark, Millington, Millbrook, Bristol and Little Rock.
Instruction: 
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
