Description: 
At 332 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that the heaviest rainfall had moved out of the area. Additional showers may continue for the next hour with little accumulation expected. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen from earlier storms. Flooding is expected to continue for the next several hours. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... DeKalb, Sandwich, Mendota, Sheridan, Shabbona, Lake Holiday, Hinckley, Somonauk, Earlville, Waterman, Leland, Paw Paw, Millington, Lee, Compton, West Brooklyn, Harding and Triumph.
Instruction: 
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
