Description: 
At 347 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Bible Grove, or 12 miles southwest of Newton, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Jasper, northwestern Richland, northeastern Clay and southeastern Effingham Counties, including the following locations... Wakefield, Wendelin, and Ingraham. This also includes Newton Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for south central and southeastern Illinois. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
