Description:
At 110 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Abingdon to St. Augustine to near Little Swan
Lake, moving southeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
These severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Knox County, including the following locations...
Gilson, Galesburg Municipal Airport, Delong, and East Galesburg.
This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 43 and 57.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
