* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Indiana, including the following county, Lake IN. * WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1003 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Some locations have already received rainfall from earlier storms, with additional thunderstorms moving into the area. Urban flooding of yards and roadways may begin shortly. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Hammond, Gary, Portage, Merrillville, East Chicago, Schererville, Hobart, Lansing, Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Griffith, Dyer, St. John, Lake Station, Lynwood, Whiting, Winfield and New Chicago. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
