Description: 
At 639 PM EDT, emergency management reported the floodgates on the Lake McCoy Dam were opened causing flash flooding downstream on the Cobbs Fork. HAZARD...Flash flooding from the imminent controlled breach of Lake McCoy Dam. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flooding of areas downstream from the Lake McCoy Dam along Cobbs Fork. This includes the following streams and drainages... Jordan Creek, Cobbs Fork and Sand Creek. The flood wave will move down Cobbs Fork beginning at Boulevard Road...crossing Indiana Route 46 to the south.
Instruction: 
If you are in low lying areas below the Lake McCoy Dam you should move to higher ground immediately. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
