Eastern Gibson County in southwestern Indiana...
Pike County in southwestern Indiana...
* Until 830 PM CDT /930 PM EDT/.
* At 701 PM CDT /801 PM EDT/, emergency management reported flash
flooding. Occasional water rescues are occurring in Oakland City
while several county roads are flooded in Pike County. Between 4
and 10 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue,
but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already
occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Oakland City, Petersburg, Winslow, Francisco, Somerville, Spurgeon
and Mackey.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
