...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Patoka River near Princeton.
.Recent torrential rainfall received across the basin will raise the
Patoka River near Princeton into moderate flood, with flooding
continuing through the Independence Day holiday weekend.
For the Patoka River...including Princeton...Moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Patoka River near Princeton.
* WHEN...Until Tuesday, July 7th.
* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Flooding affects mainly farmland. Seasonal
camping trailers closest to the river become inundated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:45 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 19.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.5
feet Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage
Tuesday, July 7th.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
