Description:
* WHAT...Heat index values in the lower 100s.
* WHERE...In Illinois, Carroll, Jo Daviess, and Stephenson Counties.
In Iowa, Jackson and Dubuque Counties.
* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wildfire smoke aloft if dense could limit
high temperatures by a few degrees and lead to lower heat index
readings.
Instruction:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
