...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...A dangerous combination of oppressively hot and humid
conditions with heat index values between 105 to 115 expected.
* WHERE...In Illinois, Bureau, Putnam, Carroll, Henry IL, Jo Daviess,
Stephenson, and Whiteside Counties. In Iowa, Clinton, Jackson, and
Dubuque Counties.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.
Instruction:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
