Description:
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to
110 degrees expected.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Iowa, southeast
Minnesota, and central, southwest, and west central Wisconsin.
* WHEN...From 8 AM Monday to 9 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm conditions are forecast today over
northeast Iowa. A Heat Advisory may eventually be needed.
Thunderstorms Sunday night and Monday could limit heating which
would reduce the risk of heat-related illness.
Instruction:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
