* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108 possible in southwest Iowa and the Omaha metro. * WHERE...In Iowa, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, and Pottawattamie Counties. In Nebraska, Douglas and Sarpy Counties. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat indices overnight fall only into the mid-70s preventing uncooled homes from dispersing the day's heat. The dangerous heat may linger well past Tuesday through much of the work week.
