Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...
English River at Kalona affecting Johnson and Washington Counties.
.Recent heavy rainfall and run-off will produce flooding on portions
of the English River.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...English River at Kalona.
* WHEN...From this evening to early Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water begins approaching several county
roads. Agricultural land near the river is flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.9 feet and rising.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening to a crest of 15.9 feet tomorrow morning.
It will then fall below flood stage Friday evening.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
