Wapsipinicon River near Anamosa Shaw Rd affecting Linn, Cedar and
Jones Counties.
* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
* WHEN...Until Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 12.5 feet, Water affects old U.S. Highway 61 near the
river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 10.9 feet and rising
rapidly.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this morning to a crest of 12.7 feet Thursday morning.
It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
