Description:
At 614 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Lowden to near Atalissa to near Haskins, moving
east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Iowa City, Tipton, West Branch, Durant, Stanwood, West Liberty,
Wilton, Lowden, Bennett, Atalissa, Rochester, Buchanan, Clarence,
Cedar Valley, Muscatine County Fairgrounds, Bennett Park, Moscow,
Sunbury, Saulsbury Bridge Campground, and Tipton Matthews Airport.
This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 250 and 277.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
and east central Iowa.
A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

the Quad Cities.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
