Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River at Oxford. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Low lying agricultural fields flood north of the river gage site. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 12.9 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 19.8 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
