...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Kansas...
Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Arkansas River at Arkansas City.
* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, The Water Plant takes precautions on water
well pump houses west of the Arkansas River.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 14.5 feet and falling.
- Forecast...The river will continue falling before having a
secondary crest then is expected to fall below flood stage
early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
