increased in duration for the following rivers in Kansas...
Slate Creek At Wellington affecting Sumner and Cowley Counties.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Slate Creek at Wellington.
* WHEN...From this evening to late Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 23.5 feet, Expect extensive cropland and field
flooding along the creek.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening to a crest of 22.0 feet tomorrow morning. It
will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
Instruction:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
