Verdigris River at Independence affecting Montgomery and Wilson Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Independence. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, Some flooding of low lying areas and bottom land can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 12.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 35.5 feet Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
