Arkansas River near Mulvane affecting Sumner and Sedgwick Counties. Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River near Mulvane. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, Lowland flooding occurs along the vicinity of the river, primarily affecting the farmland northwest of the Highway 53 bridge. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM CDT Friday the stage was 16.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.9 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
