Verdigris River at Coffeyville affecting Montgomery County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Independence. * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, Some flooding of low lying areas and bottom land can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 24.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 35.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
Instruction: 
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
