...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas...
Walnut River at Winfield affecting Cowley and Butler Counties.
Walnut River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Walnut River at Arkansas City.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Two C street Canal gates are closed at the
Highway 77 at Walnut River Levee.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:15 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 21.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 6.9 feet Friday
morning.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
