Description: 
At 551 PM MDT/651 PM CDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located near Leoti, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Public. This storm has a history of producing around 60 mph wind gusts in Greeley county and up to 81 mph in Wichita county. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Leoti, Lydia, Selkirk, and Marienthal.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Goodland. This thunderstorm will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
