Description: 
At 1009 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Gem to 3 miles south of Rexford to 11 miles southeast of Oakley to 3 miles west of Scott City, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Colby airport reported 67 MPH gust at 9:41 PM CT IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. These severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly rural areas of central Thomas and eastern Logan Counties, including the following locations... Mingo and Halford. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 52 and 75.
Instruction: 
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility. This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
