Gove County in west central Kansas... * Until 1130 PM CDT. * At 1024 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 5 miles west of Selden to 5 miles north of Grainfield to 5 miles north of Healy, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Hoxie, Grainfield, Gove, Selden, and Park around 1030 PM CDT. Quinter around 1040 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Morland. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 76 and 112.

If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
