* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kentucky, including the following counties, Bath, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 909 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain is estimated to have fallen over most of the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area through 11 AM EDT. This additional rain will likely result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mount Sterling, Morehead, Owingsville, Frenchburg, Marshall, Jeffersonville, Camargo, Sharpsburg, Salt Lick, Olympia, Preston, Bourbon Furnace, Crooks, Olympia Springs, Kendall Springs, Peasticks, Craigs, Polksville, Slate Valley and Peeled Oak.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
