Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following
counties, Clay and Knox.
* WHEN...Until 945 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 750 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen since 7 AM in the hardest hit areas.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area through 8:30 AM. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Barbourville, Manchester, Ogle, Jonsee, Park Valley, House,
Cottongin, Woollum, Haven, Hammond, Bluehole, Fount, Goose
Rock, Botto, Boho, Green Road, Horse Creek Junction,
Barnyard, Girdler and Hinkle.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
