Description:
At 531 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Buffalo to near Letitia.
Movement was south at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Ashland, Portsmouth, Ironton, Winfield, Coal Grove, Lake Vesuvius,
Eleanor, Buffalo, Greenup, South Shore, Greenbo Lake, Load, Letitia,
Franklin Furnace, Flatwoods, Russell, Vernon, Waterloo, Raceland, and
Worthington.
This includes Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 118
and 124.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
