At 957 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Beattyville, Maloney, St. Helens, Proctor, Airedale, Corgleton, White Ash, Primrose, Belle Point, Monica, Tallega, Vada, Canyon Falls, Heidelberg, Caryton, Williba, Fillmore, Yellow Rock, Willow Shoals and Widecreek. This includes the following streams and drainages... Grassy Fork, War Creek, Lick Creek, Upper Twin Creek, Station Camp Creek, Smith Branch, Little Creek, Upper Sinking Creek, Keen Fork, Kentucky River, Cooperas Cave Branch, North Fork Kentucky River, Middle Fork Kentucky River, Long Branch, Holly Creek, Laurel Branch, Miller Branch, Brush Creek, Walker Creek, Cave Branch, South Fork Kentucky River, War Fork, Wolf Pen Branch, Contrary Creek, Lynam Creek, Long Shoal Branch, Middle Fork Contrary Creek, Sturgeon Creek and Buck Lick Branch.
