Description:
At 710 AM CDT, Heavy rainfall is departing the area. Additional
rainfall of 3 to 5 inches fell overnight bringing two day totals up
to 10 to 12 inches. Significant flooding is occurring in Owensboro
and surrounding areas. High water will persist and may worsen over
the next few hours.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Owensboro, Masonville and Moseleyville.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
