Description: 
At 655 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas along a line extending from 19 miles south of Amelia to 27 miles south of Bayou Vista to 30 miles west of Dulac. Movement was southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. These storms will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Terrebonne Parish.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
