...The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Louisiana... Bogue Chitto River At Franklinton affecting Washington Parish. .The river forecast includes 48 hours of forecasted rainfall. These river forecasts could change based on how Potential Tropical Cyclone 1 tracks across Louisiana and Mississippi late tonight and Thursday. Interests along the rivers should monitor the forecast closely and be prepared for more flooding. For the Bogue Chitto River...including Tylertown, Franklinton, Bush...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Bogue Chitto River at Franklinton. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, There will be minor flooding along both banks. The National Guard Armory and parish corrections facility will require flood protection measures, as river front property will flood. Sand bagging is recommended. It is recommended that sand and gravel operations be stopped and equipment secured. Access roads to recreational areas will flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 14.5 feet Friday morning.
