* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall will continue. * WHERE...A portion of central Louisiana, including the following parish, Avoyelles. * WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 457 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in Central and southern Avoyelles Parish. Between 14 and 28 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Bunkie, Simmesport, Moreauville, Bordelonville, Cottonport, Mansura, Hessmer, Evergreen, Plaucheville, Dupont, Goudeau, Big Bend and Hamburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
