Description:
* WHAT...At 315 AM, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy downpours over central Rhode Island, moving slowly to the
northeast. These storms produced over 1 inch of rain in 45 minutes
in the New London, CT area this morning. Urban and poor drainage
street flooding is possible from these thunderstorms, especially
in Providence, Warwick and Cranston.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Massachusetts, including the
following county, Bristol and Rhode Island, including the
following counties, Kent, Providence and Washington.
* WHEN...Until 615 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Street flooding in urban areas and those locations which
do not drain well.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 314 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are possible
in the warned area.

Providence, Warwick, Cranston, Pawtucket, East Providence,
Coventry, Cumberland, North Providence, West Warwick,
Johnston, North Kingstown, Attleboro, Smithfield, Lincoln,
Central Falls, East Greenwich, Scituate, Exeter and West
Greenwich.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
